Nothingness
This dance piece is a reflection on our perception of space as we trace the borders of nothingness, a celebration of the minutiae of the quotidien, and our sense of community. Research drew on notions of the Japanese philosophy Wabi-sabi “… what in the West is considered an empty space, Wabi-sabi sees nothingness alive with possibilities … it is about the minor and the hidden, the tentative and the ephemeral, things so subtle and evanescent they are invisible to the eyes … to experience Wabi-sabi we have to slow down, be patient, and look very closely”. The performers, entangled in a playful body-space dialogue draw the invisible thus making it perceptible.
Due to its simple technical requirements and strong emphasis on spatial perception and scale, the piece can be performed in non traditional venues/settings as well as theatres.

Audience Impressions
"I saw your show at the Arts Depot last night and really loved it. The minutiae of the quotidian movement really resonated with me and was executed so wonderfully. The colour-scheme of the costumes, the playful thoughtfulness, the sense of community and yet mutual respect for personal space in the sections towards the end of the piece - it all took me to a place that felt familiar, whole and complete, not at all worn but attentive, reassuring and inspiring."
